Scottish Professional Football League

Creative Consumer Campaign // Art Direction

How do we tackle racism, bigotry, violence and sexism in Scottish football?

I approached the SPFL in the heat of yet another stadium being trashed by angry and violent fans. The steps currently being taken are just not cutting through and the SPFL know they need to do something drastic if they want to start taking more positive steps towards tackling these crimes.

I needed to speak to these people in a way that would catch their attention and they would actively understand. I Created a Marketing Campaign that talks to the people and doesn’t feel like a political box ticking exercise. The language needed to be a bit cheeky, use colloquialisms and give the audience something that isn’t just finger pointing but sends the message in a more impactful way.

The messaging can be adapted to be responsive to any incidents in real time. It can also be used to showcase ‘real’ fans as well as the hatred that is experienced by people involved in the game.
